Liana Satenstein is a writer and brand consultant based in New York City. She was a Senior Fashion Writer at Vogue for over eight years. There, she researched the resurgence of vintage trends, profiled designers, wrote about fabulously freaky footwear, and was responsible for covering the Eastern European and Central Asian markets. Since going freelance in 2023, she has written for The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, i-D, and more.
She has worked front-facing for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, Jimmy Choo, and Stella McCartney, lending an air of humor coupled with a deep knowledge of clothing history to her delivery. Her viral video in which she interviews Alex Consani backstage at Tory Burch was nominated for a Webby in the category of Fashion and Beauty Social in 2025.
In addition to her editorial background, she is a professional closet cleanser and helps clients along the resale process. Her “Sale of the Century” with Chloë Sevigny, Sally Singer, Lynn Yaeger, and Mickey Boardman made history.
She currently runs the newsletter NEVERWORNS that covers vintage trends, footwear, and archival research. Her video series, also called NEVERWORNS, takes her into the closets of editors, stylists, and publicists. Her guests have included Interview’s editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg, i-D’s Steff Yotka, Harper’s Bazaar’s Lynette Nylander, and Vogue’s Plum Sykes.
She is fluent in Russian.
